New Officials

  • Join USA Lacrosse and register as an Official.
    • If you’re also a Player or Coach, you will have to call USA Lacrosse to have them register you as an Official as well.
  • Registration starts at:
    • $65 for Adults aged 23 and above, $35 for under 22 years of age.
  • As you register, please ensure you’re selecting New Mexico Lacrosse Officials Association when it asks who you’re with. This allows us to track you a bit better.
  • Please complete the following:
    • Annual Professional Development Course.
    • Rules Online Course for the age group you plan on working games for.
      • It’s highly recommended that High School Officials take both the HS and Youth Rules Courses.
    • Annual Rules Updates (as needed).
    • Background Check (it’s free through USA Lacrosse).
    • Note: You do not have to complete the paid upgrade modules to become an Official. Also note that completing the paid upgrade modules will not entitle you to any expedited development.
  • Attend an in-person training coordinated by our USA Lacrosse-certified trainers.
  • Purchase uniforms and equipment as needed.
  • Contact your Assigner so they know your blackout dates you’re not able to work.
    • The NMLOA Assigners will work on scheduling you on-field training.
  • Come prepared to learn and have fun as you get on-field training.
